Truman Lake offers some of the best crappie fishing in the country. I fish for crappie a number of ways, including casting the shore or using slip bobbers in the spring, to spider rigging and long poling through the rest of the year. Let me teach how to catch and where to look for seasonal crappie.
Catfishing on Truman can be fast action. Drift fishing with rod and reel, jug fishing and some trot lines all work well. Drift fishing with rod and reel is my favorite, but watching a jug go under brings out the kid in you. Blue cats are plentiful and very good to eat.
White Bass and Hybrid fishing is fast action. They are a seasonal fish with the late spring to late fall being a good time to catch them. Jigging spoons in 20 ft of water or throwing rooster tails to the banks can make for a tired arm. Come and have some fun.
